Keep your drinking water clean and free of contaminants. Here’s how.

Find a good filter system

Make sure you have an excellent filtration solution in place to keep your drinking water clean. That way, you won’t need to worry about debris as well as sand, rust, clay particles, minerals, pathogens and more from being present in the water you and your family drink.

Put in a new one

If you have an icemaker or water dispenser in your fridge, then you’ll need to replace the filter on a regular basis if you want to remove any contaminants or particles from your water, the Consumer Reports says. That’s where new refrigerator water filters come in. By tossing out your old filters and replacing them with new ones, you won’t need to make do with water that tastes and smells unpleasant.

Check your manual

Always check the manufacturer’s manual for the best time to replace your filter. This may be twice or a few times a year. Be sure to check if there’s a filter in your water supply line. If that’s the case, then you’ll need to toss out that filter and replace it with a new one as well.

Know the signs

Good refrigerator water filters that work keep your water tasting and smelling pleasant. If it’s starting to taste or smell bad, that could be an indication that your filters are clogged or need to be replaced. Be on the lookout for these signs so you’ll know if it’s time to shop around for new filters.

Hire a pro

Removing old filters and installing new ones can be an easy task. But if you don’t have the time to do it yourself, or you don’t know how, then save yourself the time and effort by hiring a professional to do it for you.
