If you are missing some teeth, you need to visit your dentist and discuss getting some Partials. They are used to replace missing teeth. There are two main types of that you can get, fixed and removable. The type you need depends on your dental health.

Fixed Partials
When you get a fixed dental partial, it is attached to your jaw using a dental crown. It can also be attached under your gum if you use dental implants. Dental cement is used to keep them in place. In order to get fixed partials, you have to have healthy teeth surrounding your missing teeth. Healthy teeth are needed to support your fixed partials. The teeth themselves can be made from porcelain or porcelain that is set over a gold frame. One of the downsides to fixed partials is that they can be hard to clean if they become stained. They are also more expensive than removable partials.

Removable Partials
Removable partials feature plastic teeth and gum’s set on a metal framework. Metal claps inside of your mouth hold the dentures in place. However, it is easy to remove your dentures in order to clean them. Removable partials are a better option if you have a lot of teeth that you need to replace and you do not have healthy teeth to support fixed partials.

You can also remove your dentures whenever you want. If you want to switch to a different type of dentures, it is easy to do so. You have more flexibility with the materials that are used when you get removable partials. If you do not like how your partials feel, you can easily have them replaced at your dentist.

If you are missing some teeth, you can replace them with either fixed or removable partials. Fixed are a better option when you only need to replace a few teeth and you have health teeth around your missing teeth to support your partials. Removable partials are a better option if you have a lot of teeth that you need to replace. Make sure you talk to Dr. George Braithwaite DMD about which option would be best for you.
