If you have recently purchased an oil rig water pipe, once you use it you will notice it appears cloudy and dirty. This will happen each time you use the pipe, which means that you need to learn how to properly clean the oil rig. The good news is that getting these clean is not as difficult as it may seem. Use Rubbing Alcohol
If there is anything left in the oil rig pipe, you will need to remove it. You can then use 90 percent alcohol to clean the pipe. You will need quite a bit to clean this type of pipe, since it will have to be completely submerged to work.
If the pipe does not appear clean after it is submerged in the alcohol, you can add two to three tablespoons of oats, dry rice or table salt for increased cleaning power. Simply agitate the alcohol so that the abrasive substance will move around and remove any residue that is stuck to the glass surface. Once this process is complete, you should allow it to soak overnight, for a period of at least eight to 10 hours.
After the soaking is complete, you should rinse it with cold water and then use a cotton swab to remove additional residue. The pipe will have to dry completely before you use it again.
Use Boiling Water
Another method of cleaning an oil rig is to use boiling water. However, if you do not have a large pan, this may not be possible since these pipes are generally larger in size. However, you can also boil the water and then poor it into the pipe in order to clean it effectively. The process may have to be repeated if the glass does not appear clean after the water is removed.
Also, keep in mind, if you have smoked out of the pipe several times before cleaning, it may be more difficult to get completely clean. This means that you may have to use a few different methods to ensure that the pipe is fully cleaned and ready to go the next time that you plan to smoke.
Due to the crevices and bends in these types of pipes, it is important that you have a swab or other type of cleaning device to get the pipe completely clean. When you properly care and maintain your pipe, no matter what type it may be, it will last longer and make a smart investment. If you do not clean it regularly, chances are you will not like the taste of your tobacco when you smoke.
