Packaging machine manufacturers are in the business of saving time, money and freight damage-related costs for industrial shippers and vendors. The newest innovation is the orbital wrapping machine, a machine that requires only one worker to operate. It wraps entire loaded pallets in about one minute and does it with an efficiency that greatly reduces or eliminates costs arising from freight damage.
How the Orbital Wrapping Machine Works
An orbital wrapping machine orbits an entire loaded pallet, locking the pallet and the contents on top of it in tightly wound, durable layers of shrink wrap. The process only requires a single forklift operator to insert the loaded pallet into the cylinder and secure the wrapping machine’s shrink wrap feed to the base of the pallet.
User friendly wireless and corded activation devices let the operator start and stop the machine at will, serving as emergency stops if needed. After starting the machine, the operator backs out of the cylinder at a gradual pace, still balancing the pallet at optimal height.
The orbital wrapping machine applies shrink wrap along a horizontal axis, in a circular motion that covers the pallet and its load from top to bottom. This prevents loads from bulging or tipping, ensuring that individual products or the entire load doesn’t fall over during shipping and result in product damage.
Benefits of an Orbital Wrapping Machine
An orbital wrapping machine is safe and easy to operate. Packaging machine manufacturers designed it to require just the forklift operator to wrap load after load in no time at all. Emergency stops enhance overall safety. Plus, the machine itself can be moved with a forklift as needed, letting industrial packers utilize the machine in a variety of installations.
